Child wellbeing indicators (KIDS COUNT)
Refreshed annuallyPublished by Annie E. Casey Foundation, KIDS COUNT Data Center · original data from Maine OCFS, Maine DHHS, Maine CDC, Maine DOE, and Feeding America, depending on the indicator
Eleven Maine indicators by county and year: child maltreatment and foster-care removal, SNAP and TANF receipt, food insecurity, elevated blood lead and lead screening, low birthweight, two-year-old immunization, fourth-grade reading, and chronic absenteeism. Suppressed values are left out rather than zeroed, and Maine's fourth-grade reading assessment changed in 2021 and 2023, so that series isn't comparable across those breaks.
